Our roots
- Southwest Regional Mental Health Center -
Prior to 1979, the Southwest Regional Mental Health Center provided alcohol
counseling programs in Gallatin, Beaverhead and Madison Counties. In the fall of
1979, an opportunity arose to continue alcohol counseling under the specialized
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD) of the Department of Institutions. The
commissioners of the three counties met and agreed to commit 100% of
non-discretionary funds they received from alcohol taxes to a cooperative program.
-Alcohol Services of Gallatin County-
In 1982, Gallatin County generated over 70% of the client caseload for Tri-County
Alcohol Services. With the support of the Gallatin County Commissioners, in June of
1983, articles of incorporation were filed with the Secretary of State to create
Alcohol and DRUG Services of Gallatin County. In December of 1983, the average
caseload was 70 clients.
- Alcohol and DRUG Services of Gallatin County -
By February 1986, Alcohol Services of Gallatin County offered a structured
Co-Dependency Treatment Program, Outpatient Treatment, aftercare for chemically
dependent clients referred from outside agencies; and DUI Court School. Structured
Outpatient Treatment for chemical dependency was added that May and the agency
became Alcohol and DRUG Services of Gallatin County.
- ADSGC offers affordable treatment -
ADSGC continues to thrive as a provider of affordable treatment offering diverse
programs. Services are confidential and of the highest integrity. In fact, in December 2009 ADSGC received a 98% compliance in their annual evaluation from
the State Quality Assurance division for licensure. Over a three day period of study,
the agency was evaluated on all practices, with particular focus on administration,
personnel, the classes DUI offenders must attend, as well as in and out-patient
treatment.
