The Olive Branch

offering a journey of change to create healthy outcomes for residents and our community by shifting the direction of Olive Branch residents' lives in a positive way.

What The Olive Branch does

The Olive Branch offers residents a safe, sober living environment; access to medical/psychiatric services and substance abuse treatment; and case management, skills training and community referrals. It provides opportunities for residents to achieve long-term self-sufficiency and permanent housing as well as reunification with their families and children.

The desire is that each resident will achieve employment, training, or educational goals that promote economic stability and independence.
How it works
The Olive Branch has eight transitional housing beds for men. Each resident goes through a comprehensive evaluation process which determines whether the house is an appropriate setting for them.

If an individual requires stabilization or detox, he will be referred to the appropriate facility for those services. The Olive Branch is not a stabilization or detox unit.

Each resident goes through a lengthy screening process ruling out any sexual or violent offenders.  Each volunteers for the program and agrees to follow strict rules and structure, and must be highly motivated to end their cycle of substance abuse.

Olive Branch residents
  • are required to remain abstinent from the use of alcohol and drugs. Random drug
screens are conducted on-site to maintain abstinence.
  • work closely with their Case Managers to develop a plan that will lead to self-
    sufficiency and permanent housing.
  • participate in weekly house meetings for chore assignments and a skills group that incorporates “Strategies for Self-Improvement and Change” pathways to responsible living.
  • learn to give back to the community in several ways, including
    • visiting clients in ICU at Bozeman Deaconess
    • helping individuals move that are not able to do it on their own
    • providing rides to support groups
    • sponsoring new people in recovery (when appropriate)
    • serving on committees for community alcohol-free events or providing those events
    • speaking at events promoting the importance and rewards of recovery.

The Olive Branch offers a journey of change, creating healthy outcomes for residents and our community by shifting the direction of resident's lives in a positive way.
